Best Oblivion Mods

Since Skyrim is still weeks away I cannot write about Skryim mods.  So I will write about my favorite Oblivion mods.

Playing Oblivion without mods was a real downer.  After adding some mods the game became one of the best games I've ever played.

Here are my top 10 Oblivion mods that I could not live without:
  • Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul
    • Added a ton of depth to the game and made creatures have a base level (all creatures are no longer your level)
  • BTmod
    • Made the games interface PC centric instead of console centric, must have for PC players.
  • Natural Environments
    • Added weather, water, habitat and vegetation tweaks that enhanced the game.
  • Unofficial Oblivion Patch
    • Fixed many errors and bugs in the game that were never officially fixed in a patch.
  • Qarl's Texture Pack III
    • Huge enhanced texture package that makes the game look much better visually.
  • Illumination Within
    • Added lights to the external windows of most buildings to give more flavor to cities and towns.
  • Supreme Magicka
    • Balances magic in Oblivion (was underpowered originally, but Mighty Magick mod made magic too powerful).
  • Marksman Effectiveness+
    • Gives archers a fighting chance by upping the damage of bows.  Archers in Oblivion without mods were notoriously bad.
  • Marksman Velocity
    • Gives higher level arrows more velocity so that they are easier to hit enemies.  The default speed of arrows is pretty slow.
  • Deadlier Sneaking
    • Enhanced sneaking damage so that a stealth character could be more viable.
